Roger Dale Laughter, Sr.

Roger Dale Laughter, Sr., age 68, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at his residence with loved ones at his side.  The son of the late Levi and Geraldine Williams Laughter, he was born in Rutherford County, North Carolina on August 27, 1951.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Robinson Laughter, who passed away on November 19, 2019; and two great granddaughters, Scarlett and Olivia. 

Roger enjoyed hiking, fishing and camping, but most of all, spending as much time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, which meant the world to him.  When able, he attended Grandview Baptist Church in Marion.

He is survived by one daughter, Tina Laughter; two sons, Roger D. Laughter, Jr. (Tamra) and Chad Laughter (Diana); one sister, Terry Childers; thirteen grandchildren, Aaron, Bobbie (Roy), Brandon, Brandy (Chris), Brian (Juanita), Brianna, Brooklyn, Devan, Haley, Kayla (Anthony), Matt (Bailey), Noah and Thomas; nineteen great grandchildren, Austin, Avianna, Barrett W, Barrett, Bentley, Braison, Chase, Cyrus, Gage, Isabella, Kiley, Kirstin, Leylon, Liam, Sawyer, Stevie, Tucker, Zaylee and Micah; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Mr. Laughter’s life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Grandview Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Dicks officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
