Old Fort

Roffie Lee Gardner, born on October 26, 1954 in Buncombe County, peacefully went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2026, at Memorial Mission Hospital.

Roffie devoted many years of his life to working as a skilled rock mason, a profession reflecting both his strength and meticulous care. Later in life, he retired as a truck driver. Throughout his life, Roffie's genuine character and good sense of humor shone brightest in his love for his family, especially his grandsons, which he regarded as one of his proudest accomplishment.

He is survived by his son, Shane Gardner, and wife, Kasey, as well as his beloved grandsons, Caleb and Logan Gardner. Born into a large family, Roffie was one of ten siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Virginia Gardner, whose memory he honored throughout his life.

Though Roffie has departed, the warmth of his spirit, his humor, and the enduring love he had for his family remain imprinted on the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. His passing marks the end of a life well-lived, devoted to hard work and family, and he will be deeply missed by all.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
