Robert Wylie Hedrick

Dec 5, 1971 — Jul 14, 2026

Bakersville

Robert Wylie Hedrick, age 54, of Kates Lane in Bakersville, the Ledger community, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.

Born on December 5, 1971 in Oakland County, MI, he was the son of the late Dennis Zenevich and Patricia Smith.

Robert was a die hard Michigan Wolverine fan and lived by their motto: Go Blue! He loved his sons with all of his heart. He enjoyed spending time with them and all of their friends. He loved all five of his dogs and they were very special to him. Prior to his declining health, he enjoyed fishing. Recently, he found Jesus, which was the best decision of his life. Near the end of his life, he told his family that he missed his mother and was looking forward to seeing her in heaven.

Robert had a host of friends in Burnsville. He had touched many people’s lives and was good to everyone that he met. He also prayed sincerely and from his heart for many, many people that he knew. Left to cherish his memories are his sons; Cody Hedrick (Gabi Hippe) and CJ Hedrick (Jurista Riddle), their friends; Isaiah Ollis, Hunter Lowery and Luke Hoilamn all of whom he considered his sons, his brothers; Scott Hedrick and Michael Zenevich and his sister; Tracey Lynn and his very best friends; Jeremiah Lusk and Charlie Banks.

A celebration of life will be on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Bear Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Alvin Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Bear Creek Baptist Church.
