Ricky Robert Phillips

Ricky Robert Phillips, 71, of Nebo, passed away at the McDowell Hospital on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Ricky was born in Valdese, NC on October 28, 1954 to the late Leonard Phillips and Irene Pittman Phillips.

Ricky loved watching all sports. He spent a lot of his time cheering on the NC Tarheels, New England Patriots and the Carolina Hurricanes. He also loved listening to Elvis Presley.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Ryan Phillips of Valdese; ex-wife, Elaine McEntire Phillips; sister, Melissa Moore (Jimmy) of Lenoir; and his two best friends, Randy Crowder and Randy Lowman.

The family would like to give a special thank you to his wonderful caregivers Tonya Tingley and Missy Duckworth.
