Ricky Dean Collins

Ricky Dean Collins, 62, of Weaverville and formerly of Marion, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at his home.

He was born in Yancey County on January 6, 1961 to Floy Jane Bradley Collins and the late Roy Collins. Along with his father, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Faron Collins, Billy Collins, and Timothy Collins.

Ricky was a true mountain man. He loved living in the mountains and being in the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and ginseng hunter. Ricky never failed to put his family first. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother, Floy Collins, he is survived by his wife, Linda Gail Robinson Collins; three children, Lindsay Collins (Michael), Zachary Collins (Faith), and Brayson Collins; five grandchildren, Dora, Jamie, Sofiah, Ariel, and Ragnarr; three brothers, Kenneth Collins (Theresa), Dee Collins (Emma), and Roger Collins; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastors Don Mitchell and Ken VanBuskirk officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
