Richard Edward Brendle

Richard Edward Brendle, 66, of Marion, passed from this life to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at his residence.

He was born in McDowell County on September 26, 1959 to the late George Edward Brendle and Barbara Anne Clewis Brendle. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Virgil and Viola Brendle, and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Eva Clewis.

Richard worked in manufacturing for most of his life. An avid musician, he loved music and could play a variety of stringed instruments, particularly the guitar. Richard was known as an old soul who enjoyed classic cars and antiques. He also regularly watched The Andy Griffith Show. Most of all, Richard was a Christian who loved the Lord.

He is survived by two sisters, Laura Shook (George) and Bonnie Wright (Randy); one brother, David Brendle (Sonya); and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and other beloved extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Vein Mountain Baptist Church. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Mr. Jeff Brendle officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
