Rena Isabelle McGee

Rena Isabelle McGee, 88, a resident of Old Fort passed away at Carepartners Solace Center of Asheville on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. 

Rena was born on July 8, 1935 in Jackson County, NC to the late Albert McHeffey and the late Maude Foster McHeffey. Rena enjoyed nature and loved watching cardinals, chickens and frogs.

Surviving Rena are her children, Hilda Edwards (Jerry) of Marion, Stuart McGee of Old Fort and Jeff McGee (Jamie) of Conover; three grandchildren, Timothy Edwards, Jacob Edwards and Samantha Stevens; three great grandchildren, Sienna Edwards, Madilyn Edwards and Elijah Edwards, and two step grandchildren, Erin Rupp and Joel Edwards. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Trent McKeehan. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm.
