Raymond Boyd Alexander, 96, of Marion, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025 at the Charles George VA Medical Center.
A native of Lebanon, Virginia, Raymond was born on April 21, 1929 to the late Kemp Alexander and Ella Mae Alexander Jesse.
Raymond was a veteran of the United States Army. He served in the Korean War where he received a Silver Star for bravery. Raymond retired from American Thread. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, his life was centered on his family, especially his grandchildren who were his pride and joy. Raymond never met a stranger, and he will be remembered for his kind and tender-hearted nature. He will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delma “Geraldine” Alexander; one brother, Maynard Guy Alexander; and one sister, Pauline Virginia Gross.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Michael Ray Alexander (Tessa Burleson) of Locust, NC; grandchildren, Lacie Brooke Alexander and Colton Michael Alexander of Locust, NC; one brother, Harry Dean Alexander (Nita Alexander) of Oklahoma City, OK; and one sister, Vada Ruth Holmes (Bob Holmes) of Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 24, 2025 from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Don Mitchell officiating.
Interment will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon, Virginia.
