Ray Moore

Ray Moore, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, at UNC Blue Ridge. Born on September 14, 1954, Ray touched the lives of many with his warmth, kindness, and steadfast devotion to his loved ones.

Ray’s life was marked by a deep commitment to family. He is survived by his devoted life partner, Evelyn Marie Wright, who was his companion and support throughout the past years. He is also survived by his daughter, Sandy Williams. Ray’s legacy continues through his grandchildren—Macy Effler (Clay), Ty Williams, and Camdyn Williams; great grandchildren Everley and Ezrah—whose lives he enriched with love and guidance.

Family held a special place in Ray’s heart. He leaves behind his brothers Ronald, Bill and Ken Moore, and his sisters Wanda, Shirley, Kathryn and Frances Moore; best friend Jeff McCurry (Gwen).

He enjoyed working in his out building and fishing when he could. Ray loved his family especially his grandchildren. He was a collector of all things Coca-Cola.

A gathering of friends to honor Ray's life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory, located at 2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752. Friends and family are invited to gather, remember, and celebrate the many ways Ray made a difference in the lives of everyone he met.

Ray Moore’s journey on this earth may have come to a close, but the memories he created and the love he shared will continue to inspire all who knew him. His absence is deeply felt by those whose lives he touched, and his spirit will remain alive in their hearts for years to come.
