Ray Wilson DeWitt

     Ray Wilson DeWitt, 80, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.

     Ray was born in Charleston, SC on June 17, 1943, to the late Woodrow R. DeWitt and Earline Roberts DeWitt. He was married to his wife of 25 years, Judith Mae Herndon DeWitt. Ray was a member of New Manna Baptist Church in Marion. He enjoyed traveling and hiking, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his first wife, Sara Lee Smith DeWitt; a son, Bobby DeWitt; and a brother, Donnie DeWitt.

     Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Judy DeWitt; a son, Timothy DeWitt; two step daughters, Amy Morrison and Elizabeth Smith (Jason); a step son, Charles Padgett; two sisters, Edna DeWitt and Pauline DeWitt; a sister in law, Patricia DeWitt; three grandchildren; five step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     A memorial service will be held at a later date.
