Ray E. Anderson

Ray E. Anderson, 87, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away in the late evening hours of Sunday, November 07, 2021 at his residence.

A native of Olathe, Kansas, Ray was born on December 17, 1933 to the late Orville Ray Anderson and Kathryn Martin Anderson.

Ray served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the USS Bataan. He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, where he was very active. He was known to help others and never charge them. He loved his family and will be remembered as a good man and a great friend in his community.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Betty Biddix Anderson; five children, Richard Ray Anderson (Mary), Susan Diane Dennett (Tarl), Randy Lee Anderson, Debbie Shore, and Jim Shore (Lynn); eleven grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; and one brother, Jerry Anderson.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Biddix Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m.
