Randy Scott Hutchins

Randy Scott Hutchins, age 56, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Transylvania Regional Hospital.

He was born in Buncombe County on March 23, 1965 to Freida Jean Hutchins and the late Thomas David Hutchins.

Randy worked at Leviton in Morganton. A very avid fisherman, Randy enjoyed visiting yard sales, flea markets, and auctions. He loved collecting guns. He never met a stranger, and he helped everyone who needed it. Above all, he was a great family man, and there was nothing he would not do for his family or friends.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his wife, Alicia Hutchins.

He is survived by, in addition to his mother, his son, Andrew Hutchins (Ashley); two grandchildren, Lena Hilton and Eric Hilton; two siblings, Mike Hutchins (Nettie) and Sheryl Merrill (Dana); and four nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park in Black Mountain. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 1:00, two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
