Randolph “Buddy” Clay McKinney, 80, of Marion, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Magnolia Lane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Mitchell County on August 11, 1944 to the late Clay Lowery and Edna McKinney.
Buddy had a passion for old cars and trucks, particularly those of the Ford brand. He had exceptional talent for tinkering and working on their engines. He enjoyed time spent hunting and fishing. More than anything, his family takes great comfort in knowing he was right with the Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Trula Faye Moore McKinney, and one son, Travis Clay McKinney.
He is survived by five children, Randy McKinney (Faith), Connie Collins, Buddy McKinney (Tonya), Jeremy McKinney, and Dakota McKinney; one sister, Janice King (Jack); seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Donald Justice officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
