Polly Horton

     Lula “Polly” Nobles Horton, 80, of Nebo, passed away, Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.

     Polly was born in Brunswick County, NC, on December 17, 1941, to the late Floyd and Josephine Milligan Faulk. She was married to the late Arthur B. Horton. Polly was a member of New Britton Baptist Church in Ash, NC and was an ordained evangelist. She enjoyed playing in the creek while panning for gold and collecting rocks and gemstones. Polly was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

     In addition to her husband and parents, Polly was preceded in death by two brothers, Carnell and Jimmy Milligan; and four sisters, Estelle, Laura, Flossie, and Bernice.

     She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Berry (LaFon); a son, Eric Thomas (Susan); four grandchildren, Brandon, Samantha, Scott, and Erika; a bonus grandchild, Jennifer; nine great grandchildren, Alexis, Ryleigh, Paizley, Laci, Aubreigh, Benjamin, Lukas, Jakob, and Avery.

     A memorial service will be held at a later date.
