Phyllis Cable Revis, age 70, passed away peacefully at her home on April 20, 2026. She was born on August 28, 1955, and will be remembered as a devoted mother, faithful friend, and a woman whose kindness touched countless lives.
Phyllis was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she lived out her strong Christian faith as a godly and compassionate woman. She found joy in life's simple blessings-watching cardinals, tending to her flowers, and baking for others. Sharing her homemade treats was one of the many ways she showed love and care to those around her.
Above all, Phyllis cherished her role as a mother. Her son, Kelly, was the center of her world. Their bond was strong and filled with love, laughter, and lifelong memories that will be treasured forever.
She dedicated much of her life to serving others through her work. Phyllis worked as a secretary at Baxter Healthcare for 35 years, followed by 10 years with McDowell County DSS. Most recently, she was employed with Clear Sky Behavioral, where she was deeply loved by both colleagues and individuals she supported. Her presence made a meaningful difference in the lives of many.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lester Allen Revis; her parents, Charles Cable Jr. and Melba Cable; her sister, Joyce Cable Sluder and her husband, Bill Sluder; and her niece, Ashley Lawing.
She leaves behind her son, Charles "Kelly" Revis and wife, Melanie Revis, who will forever cherish her love and guidance. Phyllis also leaves behind an abundance of dear friends who were like family to her, including Robbie Burleson, Chase Belt, Matt, Brittany, and Aspyn Blalock, and Jeremy and April Dobson, along with many others whose lives she touched.
Phyllis will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Beam Celebration Center on Thursday, April 23, 2026. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, with the service to follow. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
