Phyllis Ann Adkins Edwards

Phyllis Ann Adkins Edwards, 87, of Nebo, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

She was born October 28, 1938 to the late Deckard Adkins and Nettie Whitson Adkins. Phyllis had a career in textiles and later worked for Columbia Forest Products. She loved being outdoors. She enjoyed camping and get-togethers with family and friends. Phyllis spent lots of time traveling throughout the United States, making many memories over the years. She loved her family and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dean Edwards, and seven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra Harris (Fred) and Linda Hughes; four grandchildren, Amanda Laws (Thomas), Robert Hughes (Terri), Heather Medley (Eric), and Heath Harris (Cynthia); five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Ralph Adkins (Carol); and her special companion of 35 years, Harry Hess.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 8, 2026 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Hensley officiating.
