Phillip Harlie Young

Phillip Harlie Young, a devoted family man and retired US Air Force Veteran, passed away peacefully at his residence on November 5, 2025, at the age of 67 . Born on February 18, 1958, in Jefferson County, Alabama, Phillip lived a life filled with passion for sports and unwavering love for his family, especially his grandchildren.

An avid sportsman and a tremendous fan of university Alabama , Phillip embraced every chance to celebrate the thrill of competition and the camaraderie it brings. His enthusiasm for life transcended his athletic interests, embodying the spirit of dedication not only on the sports field but in his relationships as well.

Phillip was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, reflecting his commitment to faith and community throughout his life. His presence will be profoundly missed, yet the legacy he leaves behind is one of love, devotion, and togetherness.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sheri Trowell - Young, and his children, Phillip Young Jr. and Samantha, Candice Pelletier and Jonathon, Amanda Rex and Jared, Samantha Butler and Jeremy, Erika Young, and Mirinda Williams and Jacob. Phillip's adoration for his family extended to his cherished grandchildren: Harlie, Thomas, Elizabeth, Blake, Dean, Sophia, Luna, Victor, Rose, Ella, Jordyn, Harper, Persephone, Ian, Colton, Wyatt, Parker, and Ivory.

Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Harlie Young, and his mother, Alice Ogletree Young.

A visitation will be held on November 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory, 2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM at the same location.
