Peggy Jane Queen Brooks

Peggy Jane Queen Brooks, 85, of Marion, passed away at Autumn Care of Marion on Sunday, Feb 11, 2024.

Peggy was born in McDowell County on January 27, 1939 to the late Clarence Queen and Mattie Burnett Queen. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Queen.

Peggy enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and trips to the lake. She was known as a first class lady who was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of fifty eight years, Phil Brooks; a daughter, Angie Brooks Smith (Wesley); a brother, Frank Queen (Joyce); sister, Millie Jo Kirby and three grandchildren, Luke Smith (Brielle), Landon Smith (Emily) and Lane Smith.

A memorial service will take place in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service on 
 Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 3:00 pm. Mr. Skipper Queen will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 at the funeral home.
