Pauline Myers Worley, 92, of Lenoir and formerly of Marion, passed away peacefully on the evening of Thursday, April 18, 2024.
She was born in Swain County on December 21, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Charles and Mae Myers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alton Worley; and her siblings, Otis Myers, Audrey Ballew, Rosie Cox, and Pearl Chance.
Pauline was a longtime, faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her church wholeheartedly. For many years, she worked at Coats America and also at Moore’s Department Store. She was a kind-hearted lady who was fully devoted to her family. She was faithful to her husband, and her love for her children, grandchildren, and extended family was remarkable.
She is survived by her two children, Phyllis Wright and Alton Ray Worley (Carol); five grandchildren, Jamie Wright (Lashae), Jonathan Wright, Chad Worley (Tanya), Nathan Worley (Mandy), and Lisa Mull (Richard); ten great grandchildren, Heather Bradshaw, Cameron Wright, Landrie Wright, Andrew Worley (Brandy), Jada Worley, Isaac Worley, Kayla Seay, Bailey Worley, Bristol Worley, and Brianna Mayfield; three great great grandchildren, Chandler Mayfield, Kolton Crowder, and Hadleigh Worley.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Tom Walker and Pastor Victor Worley officiating. Scott Cable and Juanita Worley will also speak. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Flowers are accepted and appreciated; however, memorial donations may also be made to Amorem Hospice.
