Pauline Elizabeth "Ebbie" Willis

On Sunday, January 18, 2026, Pauline Elizabeth “Ebbie” Willis, 98, of Marion, went to be with the Lord at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

She was born in Burke County on March 15, 1927 to the late Fate Lentz and Annie Abernathy Lentz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Bailey.

Ebbie was a devoted homemaker who always looked for ways to care for others. A wonderful cook, she always made sure those who visited her home never left hungry. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 79 years, Harold Leonard Willis; two daughters, Ann Goode of Marion and Susan Gossett (David) of Marion; three grandchildren, Amy Allison, Michael Gossett, and Luke Woodby; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and special neighbors and friends, Jack and Kaye Mills, Paul and Lynn Bartlett, and John and Kay Cogar.

A private graveside service will be held at Barnes Cemetery.
