Pauline Jarrett

On the evening of Saturday, March 12, 2016, while surrounded by her loving family, Mrs. Pauline Bolick Jarrett, age 90, of Marion, went home to be with the Lord at Rose Hill Retirement Community.  Born in Mitchell County, North Carolina on June 24, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary McMahan Bolick.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Pauline enjoyed watching what nature had to offer, particularly red birds.  One of the greatest joys she had, was spending time with her family.  Up until the time of her passing, Pauline was the oldest member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Reid Jarrett; and eight siblings, Alonzo, James, Coy, Bonnie, Cartha, Donald, Leo and Hazel. 

She is survived by her four loving sons, William “Bill” Jarrett and wife Jeanette of Marion, Dickie Jarrett and wife Diane of Marion, Kim Jarrett and wife Ann of Marion and Keith Jarrett of Asheville; one brother, Kenneth Bolick of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Kathy Wallace, Ronica Vallini, Jenny Jarrett, Joshua Jarrett and Mackenzie Jarrett; eight great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.  Pauline is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Eric Grindstaff officiating.  Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the church.
