Paula Jean Barber Elliott

Paula Jean Barber Elliott, 76, of the Glenwood Community, passed away Saturday morning, August 9, 2025 at her home with her family by her side.

A native of McDowell County, she was born on June 9, 1949 to Jean Wilson Barber and the late Paul Barber.

Paula worked nearly 45 years at Collins & Aikman. Her family meant the world to her, and she loved spending time with them, especially with her granddaughter, Emery. She enjoyed listening to music. Paula loved the Lord and was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother, Jean Barber, she is survived by her husband, Jim Elliott; daughter, Leslie McPeters (Steven); her granddaughter, Emery McPeters; and her brother, Ronnie Barber (Linda).

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A private graveside service will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
