Paul Eugene Houck, 81, of Nebo, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2026 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.
Paul was born in McDowell County on December 27, 1944 to the late George Woodrow Houck and Virginia Dare Gray Houck.

A wonderful provider, Paul will be remembered for his kindness, his willingness to help his family and friends, and his witty sense of humor. He loved children and had served as a foster parent for many children over the years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Beam Houck, and his brother, Charles Lewis.
He is survived by two children, Shelly Owensby and Eric Houck; five grandchildren, Caden Maynor, Cecily Houck, Cavot Payne, Cobren Payne, and Havalynd Renew; and three sisters, Louise Creswell, Joann Young, and Lana Houck.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Pastors Bruce Ward and Dean Owenby officiating. Burial will follow at the Wilson-Ballew Cemetery in Nebo.
