Patricia Louise Davis Hitt

Patricia Louise Davis Hitt, 82, of Marion, passed away at Mission Hospital McDowell on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

Patricia was born in Cumberland, Maryland on July 15, 1943 to the late Frances Charles Davis and Violet Garlitz Plummer, and her stepfather, Charlie Plummer.

She treasured her times spent outdoors working in her yard and watching nature. Some of her favorite pastimes were listening to gospel music, taking road trips, and reading. She lived her life for her children and grandchildren.

Preceding Patricia in death, along with her parents, are her son, David Christopher Hitt; a grandson, Corey Hitt; and a sister, Karen VanMeter.

Those left to cherish her memory include her four children, Stephen Hitt (Paula), Gregory Hitt, Kristina Higdon, and Dawn Rode (Frank); brother, Charles Davis (Joyce); sister, Judy Davis; grandchildren, Celesta Beaver, Shelby Price (Bradley), Nathan Higdon (Carmen), Rayna Hitt, Allyssa Onorato, Melissa Rode, Tiffany Rode, and Kimberly Bell (Aaron); five great-grandchildren and one on the way which she has prayed for.

A funeral service for Patricia will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at McDowell Memorial Park immediately following the service.
