Morganton

Patricia Allen Taylor, of Morganton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, the evening of her 84th birthday.

She was born in Asheville on January 8, 1942 to the late Jack Allen and Leila Jolly Allen.

Pat spent her career as a financial analyst in the textile industry where she was deeply committed to her work. A proud graduate of Old Fort High School, Pat maintained a deep and lasting bond with three of her high school friends: Sue Gibbs, Dee Knight, and Nina Marston. The four friends cherished their time together, gathering each Wednesday to fellowship and enjoy card games, a testament to the special connections she cultivated throughout her life.

Pat was a longstanding member of Grace Community Church. She faithfully contributed to and participated in worship services, demonstrating her deep commitment to her church community. Even during periods when her health did not allow her to attend in person, she continued to engage spiritually, often participating online.

Known as a strong woman of faith, Pat inspired all who knew her. She had no fear of dying and faced life's challenges with a calm assurance that touched everyone around her. Her faith was not only a source of strength for herself but also a beacon of hope for others. In her personal life, Pat had a profound love for flowers. Her warmth, kindness, and faith-filled presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Von David Taylor; her brother, Wayne Allen; and her sister, Sheneiah Jenson.

She is survived by three children, David Taylor (Sandra), Kim Taylor, and Roxie Vess (Keith); six grandchildren, Lynsie Davis (Adam), Logan Taylor (Quen), Alix Taylor, Austin Laws (Hope), Holly Laws, and Dillon Laws; and seven great-grandchildren, Weston, Banks, Brylee, Cali, Charleigh, Abby, Bailee, and one on the way, Thompson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Beam Funeral Service. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Jerry Lewis will officiate. A private graveside service will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
