Pastor Samuel Jefferson Hall, III

Pastor Samuel Jefferson Hall, III, 57, of Marion, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 at his residence.

A native of McDowell County, Jeff was born September 10, 1967 to Jane Williamson Davis and the late Samuel Jefferson Hall, Jr.

A man of unwavering faith and deep commitment, he devoted his life to the service of the Lord. He was a member of Nebo First Baptist Church and served as Pastor of several congregations including Cool Springs Baptist Church, Greenlee Baptist Church, Bethlehem Baptist Church, Outreach Baptist Church, East Marion Baptist Church, Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Vance Avenue Baptist Church, and most recently as the interim pastor at North Cove Baptist Church. He also proudly shared the Gospel on mission trips to Brazil and Peru.

A loving husband, Jeff was wholly devoted to his late wife, Carmen, with whom he was with for 40 years. Their bond was a testament to love and faithfulness, setting a shining example for all who were fortunate enough to witness it. Jeff enjoyed many hobbies outside of his pastoral duties. He had a passion for deer and duck hunting as long as his health allowed. He had a remarkable green thumb and will also be remembered for his unique sense of humor.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Worley Hall, and a grandson, Jasper Lawing.

He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Worthy (Andrew) and Lindsay McNinch (Josh); four grandchildren, Juniper Lawing, Oliver McNinch, Elizabeth Worthy, and Cameron Worthy; mother, Jane Davis; and his sister, Paige Randall (Darren).

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Worley officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
