Old Fort

Pamela Jean Virgin Smith, 56, of Old Fort, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on the morning of Saturday, August 22, 2026.

She was born in Concord, New Hampshire on April 22, 1970 to the late Daniel James Virgin and Dona Marie Marion Virgin. A grandchild, Hunter, and a sister, Cathy Virgin, also preceded her in death.

Pamela formerly worked in a tanning salon and for Carriage House Door Company. However, she was mostly dedicated to caring for her family and the needs around the home. Though she lived in this area since 1990, Pamela remained a proud “Yankee” her whole life and was always mindful of her heritage. She was known for her creativity that was evident in her ability to crochet special items for her family and friends. She was also a wonderful cook. Pamela loved hummingbirds, and she had a special love and appreciation for butterflies. Above all else, she loved her family very deeply, especially her grandchildren.

Pamela is survived by her fiancé, Samuel Bradford; three daughters, Tara Hawkins, Ashley Huskins (Silas), and Austin Robinson; step-children, Brandon Bradford, Elizabeth Owenby, and Michelle Scott and their children; three grandchildren, Bentley, Vashti, and Antonio “Bugs;” one sister, Tina Philip (Keith); her nephew, Stone Philip; and a cousin, Shayne Wheeler.

In accordance with her wishes, the family will hold a private celebration of her life at a later date.
