Olene S. DeProspero, age 84, loving mother, grandmother and sister, completed her earthly baptismal journey on October 28, 2024 in Mars, PA. As she peacefully moved from this life to the next, she was at home and surrounded by her family.
Born in Cane Creek, North Carolina on June 28, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Bob and Gladys Woody Stevenson. Granny Olene’s life centered around her love for her family. She delighted in day to day sharing of life with her children and then her grandchildren, and more recently her excitement in the anticipation of being great-granny to Declan, who will arrive in early 2025.
Olene had a vibrant faith life and engaged in daily Bible study. Her relationship with God was a central part of her life. Her family continues to find notes in her Bible and highlights of verses she found important.
She leaves behind her daughter, Sanda Harker, her grandson, Samuel Harker, her granddaughter, Melissa Pilarski, her grandson-in-law, Justin Pilarski and her brother, "Lil Bru-th" Leroy Stevenson.
She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Rose, her parents, Bob and Gladys, and by Arthur Rose and Carl DeProspero.
A service is being planned for a later date in Marion, N.C. Family and friends will gather at the family cemetery to remember Olene and celebrate her long and faithful life.
Family is grateful for the end of life support from AHN Hospice. Memorials could be given in her memory to any of her family ministries/charities including the Shriners, Hagee Ministries, Cornerstone Church.
