Norma Patricia Epley Ward

Norma Patricia Epley Ward, “Pat,” 84, of Marion, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Pat passed away with her loving daughter by her side. 

Pat was born in Burke County to her loving parents, Roy and Katie Haskins Epley.

Pat was a loving, devoted Christian wife, and a loving, caring Mother, Nana, and Great Nana. She set a good example for her family and friends.

Pat was a member of The Remnant Free Will Baptist Church and served as the treasurer and secretary for many years. She held the position of secretary until the time of her death. She had retired from Baxter Healthcare.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Clifton Epley; sister, Margaret Robinson; and her loving husband of 53 years, Tommy Dean Ward.

Those left behind to cherish Pat’s memory are her loving daughter of Marion, Debbie Ward Price. She was blessed with a wonderful, loving grandson, Aaron Price (Kayla) of Nebo; and her three great grandchildren who were her precious blessings, Abel T. Price and Maddox Z. and Karlee J. 

She is also survived by two sisters, Dianne Hollar of Lenoir, Elaine Harris of Marion; two brothers, Charles Epley of Morganton and Kenneth Epley (Darlene) of Nebo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 3, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at The Remnant Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of VIA Palliative Care and VIA Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they expressed.
