Norma “Jean” Elliott McMahan, 88, of Titusville, Florida and formerly of Marion, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at her residence surrounded by all her children.
She was born in McDowell County on July 26, 1937 to the late Albert Elliott and Julia Gurley Elliott.
From her youth, she was unwavering in her firm belief in God. She dedicated every life decision to this faith, which was evident to everyone who knew her. A 1955 graduate of Pleasant Gardens, she also took courses at Clevenger Business College in Marion. After marrying in 1961, she became a devoted mother, always sacrificing her own needs to provide the best for her children. She eventually retired from Baxter Health Care in North Cove after nearly 30 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Wade McMahan, and one sister, Joyce Reece.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Roger McMahan, Ronald McMahan, Randy McMahan (Nancy), and Sandra Brown; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three nieces and four nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Liberty Cemetery.
