Naomi Hensley

Naomi Jean Gouge Hensley, 77, of Marion, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, in Granite Falls.

Naomi was born in Yancey County, NC, on March 25, 1944, to the late Nathan and Carrie Ollis Gouge. She was married to Thomas Dean Hensley, who passed away in 1986. Naomi enjoyed sewing and reading. Most of all, she loved her family. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her husband and parents, Naomi was preceded in death by six siblings; and a special sister in law, Freda Bauserman.

Survivors include a daughter, Becky Hensley Greer and husband Brian; two sons, Thomas Dean Hensley, Jr. and Rodney Bruce Hensley; three sisters, Marilyn Parsons, Gloria Stewart, and Frances Creson; seven grandchildren; a special friend, Tracy Morgan; numerous nieces and nephews; and two beloved grand dogs, Aspen and Kane.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 2, 2022, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion. Joe Greer will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service.
