Nancy Lucille Parker

Nancy Lucille Brown Parker, age 79, of Union Mills, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at her residence with her loving family by her side. A native of McDowell County, Nancy was born on February 3, 1939 to the late Dewey and Helen Turner Brown.

Nancy was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she formally served as a Sunday school teacher and Bible school helper. She enjoyed working outdoors especially in her gardens. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Nancy is survived by her husband of fifty seven years, Doyle Parker; three children, Dale Parker, Patricia Henson (Bo) and Jessica Parker; one brother, Dan Brown (Paulette). Also surviving Mrs. Parker are three grandchildren, Josh Sluder, Benjamin Parker and Henry Conner; and two great-grandchildren, Kadence and Waylynn Sluder.

A celebration of life for Nancy will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Montford Cove Baptist Church with Reverends Larry Brown, Marty Conner and Shawn Berryhill officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place following the service at the Montford Cove Baptist Church cemetery.
