Morgan Alexis Garland

Morgan Alexis Garland, age 27, of Morganton, North Carolina, passed away unexpectantly on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Carolinas HealthCare System-Blue Ridge in Morganton.  The daughter of Jimmy and Carol Garland of Morganton, she was born on October 01, 1993 in Morganton. 

She was preceded in death by one brother who was special to her, Chad Vincent Garland; paternal grandfather, James Garland; maternal grandmother, Minnie Lou Vincent; and one uncle, Joseph Garland.

A graduate of Freedom High School, Morgan played softball during her sophomore, junior and senior years.  Having had an amazing and contagious laughter, everyone knew when Morgan entered the room. 

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter who meant the world to her, Jemma Spearman; one sister, Paige Garland; paternal grandmother, Josephine Garland; maternal grandfather, Dallas Vincent; one nephew, Eli Thomas; and one niece, Parker Thomas.

A funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 03, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Glen Alpine with Pastor Terry Robinson officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
