Miriam Bonita Lewis

On the morning of Thursday, January 14, 2021, Miriam Bonita Ward Lewis, age 66, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away at her residence.  The daughter of the late Arnold and Patricia Barnes Ward, she was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on July 16, 1954.

A loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend, Miriam had a kind hearted soul who never let anyone go hungry.  She loved working with children and teaching Sunday school.  Miriam most recently was attending Yancey Street Baptist Church in Marion.

She is survived by her former spouse, Ricky Lewis; four children, Tom Ward Wilson, Lintricia Rumfelt, Michael Ward and Amy Seaman; nine grandchildren, Jeffery Elkins, Justin Ward, Dustin Ward, Fredrick Rumfelt, Gaige Ward, Tyler Seaman, Kristian Seaman, Draken Seaman and DeKlan Seaman; and one great grandchild, Natlee Elkins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Yancey Street Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Owenby officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service, at the church.
