Michel Eugene Waitman

Michel Eugene Waitman of Marion, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at his residence.

Michel was born in McDowell County on March 10, 1968 to Linda Hurt Ramsey.

Michel took great pride in his work as a handyman.  He was known for his artistic abilities. He enjoyed woodworking, drawing and painting. Michel was always willing to help others.

Michel is survived by his parents, Linda Hurt Ramsey and James Ivan Ramsey; a daughter, Kayla Waitman; one sister Lisa Ramsey Childress (Clint); Angie Owensby who he thought of as a sister; nephews, Chris Childress and Cody Childress; nieces, Kristen Hendrix and Samantha Childress; three grandchildren, Michela, Kevin and Melanie.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. A private family interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Old Fort.
