Michael Scott Baker

Michael Scott Baker, 40, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022.

A native of McDowell County, Michael was born March 26, 1982 to William Scott Baker and Rebecca Lewis Baker.

Michael, who was also known as Bubba, loved his family, especially his children. He had a heart for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, and collecting rocks and driftwood. He will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor and for teaching others. Michael was an old soul who was also creative. He had a very giving heart.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Carl Ray Baker; and his maternal grandparents, Thomas Carl Lewis, Sr. and Frances Poteat Taylor.

Along with his parents, Scott and Becky Baker; he is survived by his longtime companion, Sara Nichole Conner; two children, Katlin Marie Baker and Corbin Scott Baker; three sisters, Vicki Marie Baker, Marcie Kaye Baker, and Ashley Nichole Baker; and his paternal grandmother, Virginia Proctor.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
