Michael Claude Allison

Michael Claude Allison, Sr. 73, of Swannanoa, N.C. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Mission Memorial in Asheville, N.C.

Michael was born in McDowell Co. on April 13, 1949 to the late Claude Allison and the late Mary Frances Smith Allison.

He was a member of Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church since 1988. Michael served as the field representative for N.C. and S.C. for Free Will Baptist Family Ministries since 2005. He tirelessly visited churches on behalf of the Free Will Baptist Family Ministries. Michael truly loved the Lord and served him with all his might. He was known for his love of children which made him a great coach. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Including his parents, preceding Michael in death are his granddaughter, Victoria Allison and sister, Diane Haga.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Theresa Allison; children, Michael Allison, Jr., (Veronica), Stephen Allison, Daniel Allison (Erica) and Chris Allison (Savannah); grandchildren, Michael Allison III, Brittany Allison, Bradley Allison (Nikki), Benjamin Allison, Tori Allison, Evan Allison, and Destiny Allison; also two great grandchildren, Aleigha Adams and Keagen Allison.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 11:00 am, with Revs. Bobby Shehan, Jeff Duncan, Frank Woods, Jim McComas and Ben Cope officiating. Interment will take place at McDowell Park following the service.
