Melzie Hambrick

     Melzie Hambrick, 74, of Asheville, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.

     Melzie was born in Rutherford County, NC on August 10, 1947, to the late Joker and Maggie Hambrick. She was of Baptist faith and enjoyed volunteering at the Asheville Mission. Melzie liked to play Bingo and Spades; and was a fan of gospel quartet music, especially, Lee Williams.

     In addition to her parents, Melzie was preceded in death by eight siblings, Ulysses Hambrick, Tony Hambrick, John William Hambrick, Jerry Hambrick, Elizabeth Camp, Racheal D. Phillips, Baby Ruth Hambrick, and Sylvia Harris.

     She is survived by four children, Robert Hamrick (Anissa) of Marion, Kim Barnes of Forest City, Rosalind Hamrick of Asheville, and Cleon Hamrick (Tammy) of Asheville; a sister, Emily Bracey of Henrietta; two brothers, Alvin Hambrick of Forest City and Eddie C. Hambrick of Florida; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
