Melda Sue Laws

Melda Sue Skeens Laws, born on April 6, 1965, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away on January 19, 2026, at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Susie was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and companion, who touched the lives of many during her time.

She was the cherished daughter of Fon Edgar Skeens and Tennessee Hall Skeens, both of whom have preceded her in death. Susie is survived by her daughters, Jamie Owens and Dana Laws. She was a grandmother to five grandchildren. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her sister, Helen Branch, and her devoted companion, Butch Holly.

She was preceded in death by her son, Adam Rumfelt and special friends Robie and Paul Jr.McDaniels.

Susie had a deep passion for the outdoors, finding joy in camping, fishing, and gardening. Her love for nature was evident in her vibrant garden and the many cherished moments spent outside under the sun.

As we remember Melda Sue Laws, we celebrate a life filled with love, adventure, and the beauty of cherished relationships. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
