Maxine Duncan Padgett

Maxine Padgett, 91, of Marion, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Mountain Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Maxine was one of 14 children. She was born on May 27, 1935 to the late Jasper Duncan and Docia Webb Duncan. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Danny Padgett; her brothers, Warren, James, Robert and Jack Duncan; her sisters Wilena Webb, Annie Mae Byrd, Billie Burnett, Ruth Tuttle, Madge Waters and Edith Allison.

She was a member of Liberty FWB Church. Maxine loved to pamper herself by getting pedicures. She enjoyed making cards for the “Old People” and she loved her green beans. She kept everyone laughing with her great sense of humor.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Paige Brown (Tom); her twin brother, Max Duncan; sisters Gail Huskins and Hope Thomas; grandchildren, Jacy and Keely Melton; and great numbers of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 3:00 pm at the Beam Celebration Center with Rev. Bobby Shehan officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 3:00 pm.
