Matthew Craig Chapman

Matthew Craig Chapman, 48, of Marion, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

A native of Marion, Matthew was born March 11, 1975 to Samuel Grady Chapman and the late Debra Kay Finley Chapman.

Matthew was a faithful member and deacon at The Lord’s House Baptist Church. He loved the Lord with all his heart. He enjoyed classic cars, and he had a large hat collection. Matthew loved people and also his furbabies who were so special to him. He will be remembered for being kind and tender-hearted as well as a fun-loving man who enjoyed cracking a good joke.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his twin brother, Mark Greg Chapman; paternal grandmother, Sarah McKinney Chapman; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Selma Finley.

Along with his father, Samuel Chapman (Doris), he is survived by his wife, Sherie Chapman; and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.
