Mary Carolyn Twitty passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in Rutherford County at Willow Ridge.
Mary was born in McDowell County on January 28, 1941 to the late Albert Cain Twitty and Willie Margaret Ruth Means Henson.
She accepted Christ at a very early age at Roses Chapel Fire Baptized Holiness Church, then later in life April, 2023 under the leadership of Rev. Sanford Miller rededicated her life.
Early in life she worked as a house keeper for Dr. Bell of Marion, then employed by Drexel Heritage where she had various jobs for twenty eight years.
She loved yard sales, visiting local trade lots and going out to eat. She got most of her enjoyment watching the Atlanta Braves. She was known for making sure everyone had something to eat if nothing else, a bologna sandwich. She was a no-nonsense person who said what she meant and meant what she said regardless of whom or what. She was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed. We’ll all cherish the memories, stories and all the wise cracks she had.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents Albert Cain Twitty and Ruth Means Henson; her grandfather, William F. Twitty; grandmother/mother, Myra Lee Carson Twitty; a brother, Robert Lee Means, Sr.; six brothers in deed; Joe, James, Clarence, Johnny, George and William Twitty; and sisters in deed, Dorthy Bailey, Catherine Rosby, Ruth T.
