Mary Morgan

     Mary Frances Terry Morgan, 82, of Marion, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at her residence.

     Mary was born in Rutherford County, NC, on April 11, 1940, to the late Roy Terry and May Belle Padgett Terry. She was married to the late Cecil Ray Morgan. Mary was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was very active in WMU. She worked in the cafeteria at Glenwood Elementary School, where she retired after 20 years of dedicated service. Mary was a volunteer at the Christian Clothing Store and was also an avid reader. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

     She is survived by three children, Tony Ray Morgan (Debra), Herbert Ray Morgan, and Kristy Lynn Morgan (Joseph Gardner); a sister, Betty Jean Helton; four grandchildren, Angela Walker, Herbert Ray Morgan, Jr., Eric Morgan, and Karessa Slavens; and twelve great grandchildren.  

     A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Bethel Baptist Church in Marion. Rev. Jimmy Upton will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the Church.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church for the Baptist Children’s Home.
