Mary Ann Rowe Messina

Mary Ann Rowe Messina, born on July 24, 1952, in McDowell County, passed away on February 3, 2026, at Mission Memorial Hospital. Throughout her life, she was a former middle school educator and dedicating over 30 years of her career to the Department of Corrections before retiring.

Mary had a profound love for music, which enriched her life. She also took great pleasure in golf, earning respect and admiration as a talented player who won the Marion Lake Club tournament three consecutive years, a proud accomplishment that showcased her competitive spirit and dedication.

In her family life, Mary is survived by her son, Daniel Messina (Bethany), and her granddaughters, Sienna and Celeste Messina, who brought her immense joy. She also leaves behind her brother, Bob Rowe (Veda).

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Robert Rowe, and her mother, Elizabeth Leonard Rowe. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will be remembered by all who knew her.
