Mary Buchanan Jones

Mary Buchanan Jones, age 93, of Marion, North Carolina, peacefully departed this life on Friday, September 24, 2021 at her residence.

A native of Yancey County, she was born August 06, 1928 to the late Fonzer Buchanan and Deal Honeycutt Buchanan.

Mrs. Jones worked in textiles for most of her life. A great provider, she enjoyed fixing big meals for her family. Simply put, she was a great lady all around.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Jones; and four brothers, Ralph Buchanan, Rellis Buchanan, Dave Buchanan, and Losson Buchanan.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her son, Larry Buchanan and wife Teresa; four grandchildren, April Woody and husband Joey, Kelly Frady and husband Nathan, Amy Boyd, and Matthew Sandefur and wife Jennifer; and eleven great grandchildren.

A private family service will be held in Mary’s honor.
