Mary Elliott

On the morning of Saturday, June 26, 2021, Mary Elizabeth Morgan Elliott, age 81, of the Glenwood Community, departed to be with the Lord at Autumn Care of Marion.  Her loving family was by her side.  Born in McDowell County, North Carolina on November 06, 1939, to the late George and Estelle Vaughn Morgan, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Julius Garland Morgan.  Having worked for 16 years at Old Fort Finishing Plant, Mary proudly took care of her mother for 17 years and raised five children.  She enjoyed working with her hands, sewing, crocheting and cooking.  Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed working puzzle books and watching quiz programs on TV.  She was known to have a big heart and enjoyed sending cards to her family, friends and church family, whether it be for a birthday, get well or holiday; and talking on the phone with them.  Mary absolutely loved the Lord, her husband, and her family.  She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Glenwood. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ted "Roger" Elliott; five children, Michael Keith Elliott, Lisa Kay Elliott Edwards (James), Roger “David” Elliott, Lori Dawn Elliott Cooper (Len) and Timothy “Tim” Patrick Elliott; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Upton officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
