Mary Catherine “Cat” McCallister Thomas, 80, of Marion, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.
Cat was born in Yancey County on April 10, 1946 to the late John McCallister and Mamie West McCallister.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bob F. Thomas, and one sister, Jennie Revis.
In accordance with her wishes, no services are planned. Burial will be private at Nix Creek Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
