Mary Helen Dennis Boggs

Mary Helen Dennis Boggs, 86, of Spruce Pine, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.

Mary was born in Calhoun County, Alabama to the late 

Jasper Wilson Dennis and Gerthie Ophelia Dennis Daniel.

Preceded in death by sisters

Judy Daniel Bell, Glenda Dennis Turley, and Ruby Nell Dennis.

Mary is remembered as a hard worker with a strong work ethic. She was the bread winner of her family and sacrificed much to ensure all were well taken care of. Family meant everything to her and she enjoyed spending time with them every chance she got. Her love for others included extended family, dear friends that she considered family, as well as a second mom to friends of Kenny and Kellie. Mary never met a stranger, and all who met her loved her immediately! She was fun to be around and was always laughing. She had a welcoming spirit and greeted others with her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She was a very giving person who was always willing to help meet the need of a family member or friend. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling anywhere and often, reading, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, watching movies, and playing board games and card games.

Her memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth Charles Boggs (Barbara) and

Kellie Denise Boggs Dooley (Gene); beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will not be a service in NC, however, we will have a memorial service in celebration of Mary’s life held at a later date in the Metro Atlanta area. Once the details are finalized, they will be made available on Facebook.
