Mark Dwain Dalton

Mark Dwain Dalton, age 58, of Old Fort, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Memorial Campus. A native of McDowell County, Mark was born on November 28, 1962 to the late Hubert and Georgia Painter Dalton.

Mark was a member of Valley Chapel Baptist Church and was known as a kind man who like helping others. He was a proud foster parent and enjoyed working on mechanical things such as fixing mowers and working on older engines. Mark enjoyed collecting antiques and had a great sense of humor. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.

Mark is survived by his wife, Shelly Sowers Dalton; five children, Christopher Dalton (Melissa), Dustin Dalton, Amber Dalton, Isaac Dalton and Zack Dalton. Also surviving Mark are one sister, Donna Mostiller (Dean); one grandchild, Melody Dalton and a host of nieces and nephews including Michelle Mostiller.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Valley Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Sigmon officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service.
