Marjorie Ann Lowe Smith

Marjorie Ann Lowe Smith, age 97, passed away at Deer Park Health & Rehabilitation on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, James Smith, her children, Bobby Brackett and Donna Thien; and a granddaughter, Christina Brackett.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Duane Thien; two sisters, Edna Tipton and Mary "Marilyn" Penland; four grandchildren, Michael Brackett (Amanda), Candy Penland (Randy "Hutch" Hutchinson), Marcie Jellema (Steve), and Scott Thien (Kristen); eleven great-grandchildren, Robert Brackett, Tyler Brackett, Lien Brackett, Brenna Herrick, Haley Herrick, Cole Morrow, Lexi Morrow, Michael Jellema (Melissa), Katy Smallwood (Spencer), Mariah Thien, and Katelyn Ray Brackett; and four great-great-grandchildren, Emmet, Ethan, Melody, and Raven.

A Memorial Gathering to honor Margie will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory, located at 2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752.
